It was so wonderful working with Alan. I don't really like having my photo taken but Alan's calm energy instantly made me feel relaxed and comfortable and I let go of any apprehension. The shoot was so much fun and it was a pleasure to spend the morning with Alan seeking out good spots outside for a photo. Alan was very professional and friendly with an interesting eye and ability to see something unique in a shot. Alan also did a wonderful job at editing the images and even dabbled with my request for some multi-layering. I used one of the images as the cover for my solo EP release. I came away from the shoot not only with a wonderful set of photos to represent me and my music, but also a great experience and warmed by Alan's presence and conversation.

Also, you made me feel so at ease, which is so important to me - not to mention all the preparation that you did beforehand. So much fun and I’m looking forward to doing another shoot in a few months.

Excellent support and service from Alan. His expertise and calm and professional manner made a rather complex project enjoyable for all those involved. His sensitivity in adapting to the current environment at the hospice was evident all day and he took time to make sure that all who took part were at ease and that he got the very best out of everyone. Alan did our Wedding shoot on 15th September 2018, but his meticulous preparation started months before that with a recce of the ceremony venue then a chat and walk around the reception venue with us and management.

He had therefore formed ideas for the day but still managed to go "off script" with some impromptu shots requiring a bit of initiative and inventiveness.

He ensured all subjects, pairs, groups, whatever, were at ease and natural looking. He went about his work so professionally without interrupting what was going on around him. His eye for detail was obvious in the way he managed his shots ensuring clear backgrounds and settings both indoors and out.

The finished article is beautifully presented and completely personalised. A huge bonus was a folder in the presentation memory stick which contained the same master photographs but in a size making it easy to circulate among friends and relatives via social media.

All in all a fantastic job, by a first class, professional photographer who knows how to make people and events feel very special.

Wonderfully professional, personal service! We arranged a family photoshoot at our local park with our son and daughter (3 and 4 months respectively) and were blown away by the amazing experience we had. At our consultation, Alan had prepared some pics of locations at the park and discussed ideas with me - I was so impressed with this level of preparation! He also took the time to find out about the kids and get a feel for the kind of images we were going for. I imagine my brief was probably annoyingly non-specific, we just wanted some informal, happy pics capturing a 'normal' kind of day out. Alan put it very succinctly, he'd give us memories of a day at the park, and that's exactly what we've got, some precious memories of a fab day together. My husband and I were both surprised at how much fun we had on the day; we were both a bit apprehensive about how the kids would perform but Alan's chilled manner and relaxed approach quickly put us at ease. Sam in particular was won over in no time, and got upset when we were leaving saying he wanted Alan to come with us! Alan's vision turned to a beautiful reality and we're all thrilled with the way the pictures have turned out! I look forward to many more family photo shoots in the future! In this day and age we're getting so used to taking selfies, it was wonderful to get some proper pictures of us interacting as a group! Thank you so much Alan, can't commend your work highly enough! 

My partner and I had our pre-wedding shoot with Alan, and I couldn't rate him higher!!
